About us

A new bike shop story

Cerberus Brewing Company, bought Colorado Springs Bike Shop from long-time owners Bonnie and Ed Johnson so they could fulfill their retirement dreams.

Since before day one of Cerberus’ opening, our owners committed that bikes and trails would be part of what Cerberus supports (on top of animal shelters). Each year we’ve brewed multiple beers that benefit bicycle and trails nonprofits; we have bike racks to make riding to the brewery convenient; we participate in Colorado Springs Bike To Work Day; and have led Sunday “Ale Trail” group rides from the bike shop to other breweries and back to Cerberus.

The plan is to expand our brewery footprint and move the Cerberus brewhouse to the current bike shop location, add a canning line and tap house and begin statewide distribution of our award-winning beer. Across the street will remain in tact as a full restaurant and bar.

With this in mind, you’ll start to see changes happening at the bike shop but we’re excited to announce that we will always have bike repair and rental as a part of what we do as well as having a full online inventory (that you can pick up in store if you wish).

Come on in, say “hi” and meet the new owners. You’ll notice the familiar faces of Rocky and Abe as they both have stayed on board. When you’re done here, run across the street to Cerberus to enjoy a beer, house-made soda or lunch (may we recommend the best selling Brisket Grilled Cheese?). We know you’ll like what you see in our world of bikes and beer.
